How to install substantial updates:
- Select the file according to your specific AV version
- Create a temporary directory on your hard disk. A new folder is right on your desktop.
- Download the XDAT file from our website to the temporary directory.
- Double-click on the XDAT file to start the update.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard panels.
- Then the installer does the following:
- Erase removes residential software from memory or stops services that use your existing DAT files.
- Copy the new DAT files to the appropriate program directories.
- Resumes the software components needed to continue scanning with your new DAT files.
- When the installer finishes updating your DAT files, you can delete your downloaded file, unless you want to keep a copy available for further updates.
